Trauma Therapy

I offer virtual and in person sessions and use a combination of talk therapy and, if appropriate, EMDR. Talk therapy in my practice includes trauma-focused psychodynamic therapy, mindfulness, guided imagery, and breathwork. I enjoy helping people make connections between current unwanted behavior/thought patterns and past survival mechanisms that are no longer serving them. I identify most with therapeutic approaches that have a foundation in compassion and the mindfulness philosophies of openness and approaching one’s self without judgment.

My own personal work in therapy inspired me to become a therapist myself. I know what it is like to work through trauma. In my own path to healing I was given unconditional positive regard, validation, and compassion. I became a therapist so that I could pass this experience on to others.

“Words of comfort, skillfully administered, are the oldest therapy known to man.”
